Schedule for Meet the Teacher

Kindergarten

1st-5th Grade

We recommend that you bring school supplies to Meet the Teacher and leave them in your child’s classroom.  If you purchased a school supply kit from 1st Day School Supplies, it will be delivered to the classroom.  We encourage students to bring a water bottle and utilize the water bottle fillers located on campus.  Please know that parents will not be allowed to walk students to class once school begins due to safety protocols.

During Meet the Teacher, you will be able to pick up stickers to place on your child for the first week of school that indicates how your child will be going home.  In addition, kindergarten and 1st graders will receive backpack tags to indicate how they will go home.  Please help us ensure the safety of all of our students by following the instructions and by placing these stickers on your child for the entire first week of school.  Car tags will also be available for car riders in the cafeteria.  You must have a car tag in order to pick up your child, no exceptions.  If your child will be a walker or bike rider, please review your rainy day plan with your child and your child’s teacher.  Students will not be able to walk or ride a bike home if there is heavy rain and/or thunder and lightning. Please remember if a student is leaving campus in a car, they are considered a car rider and must be picked up in the car rider loop.  Walkers are considered those students walking off campus and should not be picked up in a car. All students that ride a bike, scooter, or skateboard must wear a helmet and will not be allowed to ride home without a helmet. A transportation schedule will also be available for students who ride a school bus to school.  Champions will be on site to confirm registration or to enroll students in the morning and/or afternoon childcare program, and agendas will be available for $5.  The first-day folder will be distributed on the first day of school and contains important information about school and district policies, as well as, emergency forms that must be completed and returned to school.

We thank you in advance for your support and partnership of Summerlake Elementary School!

Sincerely,

Delaine Bender
Principal
