Let's Read OCPS!

Let’s Read, OCPS!, a district-wide reading challenge, will run from January 26 to April 30, 2026, and aims to encourage students to read for enjoyment and develop a lifelong love of reading by contributing to the district-wide goal of reading 50 million minutes.

Dear Summerlake families,

Welcome to our school website.  I hope you find our website a useful resource to stay connected to the wonderful opportunities and learning offered to our students at Summerlake Elementary. Our website is updated periodically to connect our parents and community to our school.

Successful education is a TEAM effort among teachers, students, and parents.  We are looking forward to working with you and your child this year.  Please work with us as team members to ensure success and achievement.  If you ever have any questions, please call the school office, and we will be glad to assist you.

Before the school year starts, I encourage you to complete the required forms located in Skyward. The forms include the student tech agreement, model release form, student records, health services, library access, and bus registration.  

 

All meals are once again free for all students for the 2025-2026 school year. 

 

As a reminder, if you have moved, we require an updated address and/or lease if applicable. If you are moving or have moved and will not attend Summerlake next year, you must complete a withdrawal form and register at your zoned school. You can contact the registrar, Lou Ann Sholar, at lou.sholar@ocps.net to update your address or complete withdrawal paperwork. We want all students to have a teacher on the first day of school, so we must have accurate information about students. We ask that you do this as soon as possible and not wait until the last minute. We would like all students registered by August 1st.
